Khmer Poem

Poem is a subject that we focus on Khmer class from round one. In this lesson, we learn how to create different styles of Khmer poem and also how to sing them. There are different rules for creating the Khmer poem. One of the important rules is that the poem needs to rhyme. One of the poems that I created is called “Kuhn Meada” in Khmer and it is a type of Ernterek Chet song. The text below is my poem.

HyperDoc – Literacy

HyperDoc is one of the subjects that I and my classmates focused on in Literacy class. It is a Doc that contains lessons for students. The HyperDoc that my class got is called “Prison” Roald Dahl HyperDoc. In this project, we got to read one of Roald Dahl’s story which is called Prison and it is really fascinating to read. We learned different things from this project such as about theme, symbolism, story element, and structure of the story. The thing that I really didn’t know about before doing this HyperDoc is symbolism. I never think that the objects that are included in the story represent anything. However, after this HyperDoc project, I know that the author includes an object in the story because it has a meaning. In overall I think that HyperDoc is a good project to learn and it is really helpful for students. I hope to learn more with HyperDoc in the future.

Math

Multiplying fraction is one of the lessons in math class. In this session, we learn how to multiply fraction with fraction and fraction with whole number. We looked at multiple examples that related to the session and do the exercises in the workbook to understand more about it. Word problem also included in this lesson. Different styles and forms of word problems were given to represent different situations in this lesson. Finding the answer and solution to the problem can be easy or hard depending on the condition of the problem. After studying this lesson, I can understand more about it and find it’s easier to do the word problem.

Word Problem: A vendor sold 23 of his sandwiches in the morning and 16 in the afternoon. He sold 200 sandwiches altogether. How many sandwiches did he have left?

Answer: 40 sandwiches

Description: First, I plus 2/and 1/together and the answer is5/6. Then I knew that 5/is equal to 200 sandwiches. After that, I took 6/6 minus 5/which is equal to 1/and 1/6 is the leftover sandwiches. Next, I knew that 200 sandwiches are equal to 5/and I divided 200 by 5; the answer is 40 which is equal to 1/6.

Fundamental Forces of Nature – STEM

STEM is one of my favorite subjects in school. In round one, my most favorite lesson in this class is about Atom. We spent about a week to study about it. We also have a project about this session. In the project, students were divided into four different groups. Each group has a topic to do a presentation. The four topics are “Electron, Proton and Neutron”, “Atomic Force”, “Ion and Isotope” and “Atomic Number”. I was in a group that presents about Atomic Force.

Atomic Force/Fundamental Force The force that keeps the particles inside the atom (electron, proton & neutron) stay together.
Electromagnetism The force of attraction between negative and positive charges in the atom which are proton and electron. This force keeps the electrons surround the nucleus.
Strong Interaction The strongest force out of the four fundamental forces. This force holds the proton and neutron together inside the nucleus.
Weak Interaction The force that changes one type of subatomic particles to another type of particle. For example, weak interaction changes proton into neutron.
Gravitation The force of attraction between all the objects in nature.
