Multiplying fraction is one of the lessons in math class. In this session, we learn how to multiply fraction with fraction and fraction with whole number. We looked at multiple examples that related to the session and do the exercises in the workbook to understand more about it. Word problem also included in this lesson. Different styles and forms of word problems were given to represent different situations in this lesson. Finding the answer and solution to the problem can be easy or hard depending on the condition of the problem. After studying this lesson, I can understand more about it and find it’s easier to do the word problem.
Word Problem: A vendor sold 23 of his sandwiches in the morning and 16 in the afternoon. He sold 200 sandwiches altogether. How many sandwiches did he have left?
Answer: 40 sandwiches
Description: First, I plus 2/3 and 1/6 together and the answer is5/6. Then I knew that 5/6 is equal to 200 sandwiches. After that, I took 6/6 minus 5/6 which is equal to 1/6 and 1/6 is the leftover sandwiches. Next, I knew that 200 sandwiches are equal to 5/6 and I divided 200 by 5; the answer is 40 which is equal to 1/6.
